Jesus is the Good Shepherd and you are one of his sheep. He knows you by name and he loves you. You are never alone. Jesus is with you and he’s always watching over you. So you don’t have to be afraid of anybody or anything. This is his promise:
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; Yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. . . . For I the Lord will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, fear not; I will help thee.” (Isaiah 41:10, 13)
So when you’re in trouble, cry out to Jesus and he will rescue you. “Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” (Psalm 50:15)
Look at what David said about the Lord in the 23rd Psalm:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
